Therapy for teens and young adults who are ready to feel like themselves again.
For teens, college students, and young adults facing anxiety, trauma, or a major life transition — with sessions by telehealth across California or walk-and-talk therapy in San Francisco.
Free, no pressure — just a conversation to see if we're a fit.
The years that ask the most of us are the ones I work in.
Whether you're a teen finding your footing, a college student whose anxiety finally became impossible to ignore, or a young adult carrying something you haven't been able to put down — this is exactly the space I hold.
Teens (16+)
Finding your footing when everything feels like it's happening at once — school, identity, family, and the pressure to have it all figured out.
College & young adults
For the anxiety that used to be manageable and isn't anymore, and the questions your 20s keep asking before you're ready to answer them.
The LGBTQIA+ community
Affirming care for queer youth, queer adults, queer parents, and families of all kinds — a space where you're welcomed exactly as you are.
Families navigating change
When one person's struggle touches everyone, therapy can help the whole system find steadier ground together.
Care built around what you're actually carrying.
Specialized support for the things that talking alone hasn't touched.
EMDR Therapy
Some experiences don't respond to words alone. They live in the body, in reactions you can't explain, in memories that still feel like they're happening now. EMDR was designed exactly for this.

Trauma doesn't always look the way people expect. It can be the childhood you're still making sense of in your 20s, or the experience that keeps showing up in your body and your relationships.

Anxiety is not simply worry, or a sign you're weak. It's lying awake running through conversations that haven't happened, avoiding what used to feel easy. This is not who you are — it can change.

Steady, honest, and built to meet you where you are.
I've spent two decades sitting with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives — in schools, in intensive outpatient care, and in private practice. Nothing you bring will be too much.
- A relationship first — pace and pressure set by you
- Evidence-based tools — EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness — matched to you
- Affirming of every identity, background, and family
"This is not who you are. It is something that can change."
Hi, I'm Erica.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20 years of experience in San Francisco, working with teens, young adults, and families through trauma, anxiety, and life transitions.
My career began volunteering at the GLBT National Help Center in 2006. Since then I've provided care to youth and families across nine SFUSD schools, supported adults through complex diagnoses in the Tenderloin, and helped individuals and families recover in intensive outpatient care. That range is why the hard things feel workable here.
You deserve to feel understood. Let's start there.
Clear, honest, and out-of-network.
Most private practices in San Francisco don't bill insurance directly — and the details are rarely explained well. Here's exactly how it works with me.
Private pay
A straightforward out-of-network practice, so your care stays private and fully your own. Your session fee is shared upfront — no surprises.
Superbills provided
I provide a monthly superbill you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement — I'll walk you through exactly what to ask for.
PPO reimbursement
If you have a PPO plan, many clients are reimbursed 50–80% of each session once your out-of-network deductible is met.
Reimbursement amounts vary by plan, so it's always worth a quick call to your insurer first. See full fees & details →
